Goonj means an Echo, a Sound with continuous returns. A combination of raw passion and musical hearts blended with melodious tunes is the essence of the band. Steadily paving a path into the hearts of people across the nation and beyond with their soulful, catchy songs Goonj begins its long journey and shines as a bright icon of the mainstream music industry in Pakistan.
Although relatively new in the music industry and to music fans all across, Goonj marked 1998 as the year to come into existence. Formed under the supervision of Ali, initially, Goonj comprised of Ali himself along with a couple of his colleagues. “Bazaar”, a song based on a social cause was the first effort of Goonj. With nothing but the Love alone for music Ali was the brains of Goonj from the start, however being a student as well Ali had a tough job ahead of him as he was soon confronted with the unforeseen departure of his band mates due to personal commitments in 2001.
